House Karstark is a noble house in The North that holds the land of Karhold.
History[]
Early History[]
The Karstarks are decendants of the first men and have a blood relation to the Starks of WInterfell. The house was founded by Karlon Stark, who after ending a rebellion was granted lands in the North.
ASOIAF[]
The Karstarks were Stark bannerman during the events of ASOIAF untill Lord Rickard Karstark disobeyed Robb Stark by killing Willem Lannister and Tion Frey. Lord Rickard was executed by Robb Stark and the Karstarks abondoned their post as Stark bannerman.
After ASOIAF[]
The Karstarks continued to hold their lands in the North, but still hold a resentment against the Starks. The two houses have had an uneasy peace between them for many years now.
